Hello, my name is Shavonne Holloway Burrows. I was born in Columbus, Georgia, but raised in Eufaula, Alabama. I currently live in Enterprise, Alabama with my husband Cornelius Burrows. We have been married for two years. My husband is a professor at Enterprise State Community College where he teaches accounting, economics and business classes. He is also the owner of Burrows’ Accounting Service and a musician. My husband is currently working on his PhD in Business Administration and Accounting at Capella University. The one thing many people do not know about me is that I have three sisters one which is my twin and we are all educators. After graduating from Eufaula High School in May 1997, I began my college career at Troy State University, Troy Alabama, where I majored in Elementary Education. I earned a Bachelor of Science in K-6 Collaborative Education in May 2001, Master of Science in K-6 Elementary Education from Troy University, Phenix City Alabama (December 2004), and Educational Specialist in K-6 Elementary Education from Troy University, Phenix City, Alabama (May 2008). I also have a published thesis titled: DO THIRD GRADE STUDENTS’ FINAL READING GRADES CORRELATE WITH GEORGIA STANDARDIZED TEST. Currently, I am attending Argosy University (Atlanta Campus) pursing a degree in Curriculum and Instruction, EdD. My teaching career began at Clay County Elementary in Fort Gaines, Georgia, where I taught Kindergarten for four years and third grade for five. Pinedale Elementary in Enterprise, Alabama, where I taught fifth grade for two years. Currently, I will be teaching sixth grade (math and writing). As an educator, I always encourage my students to be critical thinkers and strive to be the best at whatever he/she does.
